A Visit to Oma's House, U.S.A.

To show that your patience hasn't gone unnoticed as you have stayed tuned in the interminable wait since my last post, I reward you, dear reader, with this: a mini photo-journey to Oma's home.

Contrary and always sticking to her guns, this year Oma decided that she wanted a Christmas tree, but that she didn't want to jump through all of the hoops and hoopla. Et voila, the Oma evergreen: palm tree, dressed.

One might say we are very well-versed in sour krauts.

While the rest of the world may be obsessed with HD flat screen TVs that will fit in a back pocket, Oma is not. She prefers a big TV. The biggest TV possible. In fact, Oma's console TV is so big that they don't even make 'em that big anymore. So when hers broke, Oma couldn't bear to throw it out. She just bought a little TV to put on top of it.
